SOCIAL SOLO WOES - Alex Synge

£20.00

TITLE
SOCIAL SOLO WOES

ARTIST
Alex Synge

ABOUT THE WORK
The titles of graphic designer Alex Synge’s works are derived from what3words; a navigational tool that has assigned every three metres squared of the world a unique combination of three words. This combination of words is thereby linked to a specific location and can then be used for navigation, emergency rescues, deliveries and more. SOCIAL SOLO WOES uses the three words connected to the location of the artist’s studio where the cards were designed, as well the location of the workplace of Matthew Rea who designed Bego – the typeface used on the postcard. GOOFY SCRIPTED MASTERPIECE uses the three words connected to the location where the card was printed by Justin Knopp at Typoretum in Colchester. LAZY CHOICE ENHANCEMENT uses the three words connected to the location, a postbox on Royal Avenue at the intersection of Lower Garfield Street in Belfast, where the card, when purchased, will be sent to the buyer from. The postcards in this edition are stamped and posted as they are and will thus inherit the marks of their journey through the postal system, passing through different hands, vehicles, machines and sacks. These marks will be unpredictable, but each one unique to the journey of the specific card. If you would prefer your postcard to arrive in pristine condition, please specify this when purchasing the work.
